Hi, I'm Kathleen Hopewell.
I'm a multidisciplinary writer and editor with experiences across journalistic, non-profit and international academic contexts, as well as training in evidence-based policymaking. Without sacrificing depth for breadth, I am prepared to support print and digital publication cycles, communications strategies, social media management and digital design—especially in policy-related contexts.

Social Media
As a digital native and member of Gen Z, my social media expertise has been cultivated parallel to my journalistic and policy analysis skillsets. Whether you're looking for outside-the-box designs or a tactful copy across channels, I can tailor my work to fit your unique rhetorical needs.
About Me
I worked in UNU-MERIT's communications office managing social media channels to promote the study programme to global audiences. While pursuing my Bachelors in Political Science and English at the College of Charleston, I wrote and edited for student news publication, CisternYard News. Covering political happenings on the campus, city, state and federal levels, I progressed from Volunteer Opinions Writer to Editor-in-Chief. I also wrote copy about the 'Silicon Harbor' and its growing technology sector for the economic development firm, Charleston Digital Corridor.

I am currently reporting on Morehead City, North Carolina's renowned marine science community and policy issues in North Carolina with the Carteret News-Times. I remain in pursuit of employment in The Netherlands or Washington D.C. in policy-driven journalism, following the completion of my Masters in Public Policy and Human Development at Maastricht University/United Nations University-MERIT.
