Hi, I'm Kathleen Hopewell.
I'm a multidisciplinary writer and editor with experiences across journalistic, non-profit and international academic contexts, as well as training in evidence-based policymaking. Without sacrificing depth for breadth, I am prepared to support print and digital publication cycles, communications strategies, social media management and digital design—especially in policy-related contexts.

Social Media
As a digital native and member of Gen Z, my social media expertise has been cultivated parallel to my journalistic and policy analysis skillsets. Whether you're looking for outside-the-box designs or a tactful copy across channels, I can tailor my work to fit your unique online rhetorical needs.
Design
As a collegiate journalist, I was responsible not only for writing and editing stories, but also for their layouts in our printed magazines. Great stories and important messages need excellent presentation to ensure their reception; that's why I've prioritized developing my skillset with visual, as much as written, media
Policy Analysis
With an ultimate aim of writing within policy contexts, I've bolstered my ability to communicate complex political and governmental realities through instruction in policy analysis. See examples of my work using multiple methods of policy analysis, including a quasi-experimental impact evaluation, GIS analysis and qualitative framework analyses
About Me
I worked in UNU-MERIT's communications office managing social media channels to promote the study programme to global audiences. While pursuing my Bachelors in Political Science and English at the College of Charleston, I wrote and edited for student news publication, CisternYard News. Covering political happenings on the campus, city, state and federal levels, I progressed from Volunteer Opinions Writer to Editor-in-Chief. I also wrote copy about the 'Silicon Harbor' and its growing technology sector for the economic development firm, Charleston Digital Corridor.
